Í upptökunni heyrðist í Stóra Sam hrauna meðal annars yfir enska knattspyrnusambandið og er hann í kjölfarið atvinnulaus.
Viðbrögðin á Twitter hafa ekki verið af skornum skammti þar sem stór hluti knattspyrnuþenkjandi tístara hefur eitthvað um málið að segja.
Mikið er gert úr því að Sam sé með 100% sigurhlutfall og eru margir ósáttir með gildruna sem stjórinn var leiddur í þegar samtalið umtalaða var tekið upp.

Jæja, Sammi sopi farinn. Spái því að FA verði áfram fullkomnlega ófrumlegir í ráðningum. Enskur á sjötugsaldri mun það vera! #íhaldið

Never been Sam's biggest fan, but this strikes me as guttersnipe journalism, entrapment and ultimately spiting England's progress for clicks

Sam Allardyce has lost his job as England manager. No one, though, will ever beat his game winning percentage.

Pleased to see the @FA put Gareth Southgate in charge of the National team, albeit for a reported 4 matches, I hope it becomes permanent!

I suspect, when confirmation drops tonight that Sam Allardyce has left his position with England, it will be classed as "mutual agreement"
