Býðst til að hjálpa yfirvöldum á Englandi ef hann fær vernd

Pinto óttast um eigið öryggi eftir að hafa fengið mikið magn hótana í gegnum tíðina og þá var ráðist á hann í Lissabon í apríl. Hann er maðurinn á bak við ýmsa leka sem hafa komið sér illa fyrir vel efnaða aðila og er reiðubúinn til að bjóða fram krafta sína og þekkingu til aðstoðar yfirvalda sem geta veitt honum vernd.

Pinto hrinti af stað söfnun á föstudaginn eftir að hafa verið tilkynnt að hann væri að missa vernd í Portúgal.

The Guardian greinir frá því að Pinto sé reiðubúinn til að starfa með enskum yfirvöldum gegn því að honum sé veitt vernd. Þessa dagana er risastórt mál í gangi gegn Manchester City sem byggist á gögnum sem Rui Pinto lak á sínum tíma í gegnum vefsíðuna sína Football Leaks. Þýski miðillinn Der Spiegel gerði svo ítarlegar fréttir úr lekunum.

Guardian telur augljóst að sérfræðiþekking Pinto á Man City málinu geti komið sér vel fyrir yfirvöld á Englandi.

On Wednesday, just hours after the verdict officially confirming Manchester City’s guilt, the Commission responsible for Portugal's witness protection programme informed me of its decision to terminate my participation in the programme and withdraw my police protection, thereby knowingly placing me in a life-threatening situation.

Given these circumstances, I have no alternative but to relocate, within the next few days, to an undisclosed location for an indefinite period of time, due to the multiple death threats I have received and the serious risk of an assassination attempt against me.

For this reason, I have just set up a GoFundMe campaign and I am asking for everyone's support to help me survive this serious situation created by the Portuguese State, which, as I have already stated, has knowingly decided to place my life at risk.
