Ensku félögin hætta við að taka þátt í Ofurdeildinni (Staðfest)

Félögin sex eru Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United og Tottenham. Öll hafa þau, nema reyndar Chelsea, nú sent frá sér yfirlýsingu þess efnis að þau ætli sér ekki að taka þátt í Ofurdeildinni. Chelsea er að vinna í sinni yfirlýsingu en lið félagsins var að spila við Brighton í kvöld.

Uppfært 23:55: Chelsea hefur einnig sent út tilkynningu að liðið ætli sér ekki að vera með í Ofurdeildinni.

Mikil óánægja var með þessi áform tólf af stærstu félaga Evrópu og sátu stuðningsmenn Chelsea fyrir liðsrútu félagsins fyrir leikinn gegn Brighton í dag og hindruðu för hennar að Stamford Bridge.

Auk ensku félaganna sex voru það þrjú ítölsk félög; AC Milan, Inter og Juventus og svo þrjú spænsk félög; Atletico Madrid, Barcelona og Real Madrid sem ætluðu að stofna deildina.
