Heckingbottom nýr stjóri Stefáns og félaga (Staðfest)

Preston North End hefur ráðið Paul Heckingbottom sem nýjan stjóra félagsins. Landsliðsmaðurinn Stefán Teitur Þórðarson er meðal leikmanna Preston.

Stefán hefur spilað báða fyrstu leiki Preston í Championship-deildinni en báðir hafa tapast.

Heckingbottom er 47 ára og stýrði Sheffield United upp í ensku úrvalsdeildina 2023 en var rekinn í desember.

Hann tekur við stjórnartaumunum hjá Preston af Ryan Lowe sem lét af störfum eftir tap í fyrstu umferð.

Fyrsti leikur Heckingbottom sem stjóri Preston verður heimaleikur gegn Luton næsta laugardag. Hann segir að sitt fyrsta verkefni verði að koma liðinu á beinu brautina í deildinni.
